Among these, AT17LV010-10CI is a configuration prom that has become an essential component of several systems. In this article, we will discuss the application field of the AT17LV010-10CI and the working principle behind it. Application FieldAT17LV010-10CI is a nonvolatile configuration prom (NVCPROM) which can store a maximum of 4,096 bits of single-bit-wide nonvolatile memory on a 24-pin, 0.5 mm body. Working PrincipleThe AT17LV010-10CI NVCPROM utilizes a floating gate technology to store the configuration data. This data is stored on a floating gate memory cell that consists of an oxide gate and two electrodes, a source and a drain. By applying a current between the source and the drain, the electrons from the source will flow to the drain. During this process, the electrons that pass through the oxide gate will accumulate on the floating gate and will remain trapped there until a special erase sequence is applied. The AT17LV 010-10CI uses a special read/write sequencing technique. During the write operation, a voltage is applied to the source, while the drain is grounded. This will cause an electric field between the oxide gate and the charged floating gate. By applying a programming voltage through the oxide gate, the electrons will flow from the source to the drain and will accumulate on the floating gate, thus entering the data stored on the NVCPROM.
