Introduction:AT17LV256-10JC is a high-density nonvolatile CMOS configurable memory device designed for use in Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). It was designed to provide high-speed access to large amount of configuration data when reconfiguring an FPGA. This device has become an integral part of the configuration memory for some of the most popular FPGA architectures.Application Field and Working Principle
The AT17LV256-10JC is configured in a four-bit wide configuration memory array. The array is used to hold configuration data, which is passed to the FPGA during its configuration process. This is accomplished using a serial port interface, which is enabled when the VCC pin on the device is brought up. The data bit is clocked into the device using a clock input (CLK) and enables the data output (Q).The device also has an E bit, which is used to reset the device back to its initial state. Once the configuration data has been written to the memory array, it is locked and can not be altered. This protects the configuration data from being corrupted due to power failure or other issues.The AT17LV256-10JC operates from a single 3.3V power supply and is able to read and write up to 128K-bits of configuration data. It can be programmed using the SPI interface or a parallel interface, depending on the application.Conclusion:
