The AT24C01-10PI is a 1K-bit serial EEPROM memory chip with an I2C Interface. It is widely used in many applications, such as consumer electronics, automotive, medical, industrial, networking, communications and computing systems. The I2C Interface enables the AT24C01-10PI to be used in applications where low power consumption is important. The AT24C01-10PI memory is made up of three layers, the data layer, the programming circuit layer, and the control circuitry layer.

The data layer contains the memory cells. Each memory cell is composed of two transistors. In its simplest form, a single bit is stored in each memory cell. The programming circuit layer is responsible for writing and erasing the data stored on the data layer. This layer uses high-voltage pulses to program or erase the data.
