The AT24C32-10PC-2.5 is a high density non-volatile EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory) which is ideal for applications where large capacity memory is required. This memory device stores up to 32K bytes of data, which is 256 times more than the equivalent width of data stored with the long-popular 2Kx8 serial EEPROM which operates using the I2C protocol. The AT24C32-10PC-2.5 is rated to operate over the entire voltage range of 3.0V to 6.25V, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, including automotive, industrial, and consumer applications.

The AT24C32-10PC-2.5 operates on the I2C protocol, a 2-wire serial bus protocol consisting of a bi-directional data line and a separate bidirectional clock line. The device is capable of operating in multiple speeds, from standard (100Kbps or 400Kbps) to Fast-mode (1.5Mbps or 3.4Mbps), an extremely high speed for the I2C protocol. It also features a wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C.

The internal architecture of the AT24C32-10PC-2.5 consists of an array of two kilobytes (2048 x 8-bits) of EEPROM, organized as 16-byte pages. This allows the device to store up to 32K bytes of user data. As well as the EEPROM array, the device also includes one byte of memory space for write protection, an array of 1K bits, plus an 8-bit control byte. An I2C bus-addressable write cycle counter is also included and is used to detect potential write errors.

For secure data protection, the AT24C32-10PC-2.5 offers a Write-Protect feature. This feature provides the user with the ability to monitor the user data written to the device. It also provides the user with the ability to protect certain data blocks from being written or erased, making the device ideal for secure, non-volatile applications.

In order to access the internal memory of the AT24C32-10PC-2.5, the user needs to use the I2C bus protocol. When the bus is selected by activating the I2C bus protocol from the device, the bus address of the device can be determined. Once the bus address is determined, the user can issue commands to the device using the appropriate I2C bus protocol commands. Any of the 32K bytes of memory can be accessed by issuing a valid read or write command to the device.
