AT24CS02-MAHM-E is a 2-Kb serial EEPROM, which can be used in many different applications. Its features include a 8-bit wide Data Bus, two-wire serial interface (I2C bus protocol) and unlimited write cycles. As it is a nonvolatile memory, it can maintain the stored data even the power is removed from the system.

AT24CS02-MAHM-E allows for four different read modes -no-ack, ack-poll, ack-next, and random read. In no-ack mode, the memory does not acknowledge the read request, which is used for a single read access. Ack-poll mode is used for address increments in continuous reads, where each read requires an acknowledge from the memory. Ack-next mode is similar to ack-poll mode but requires an acknowledge from the memory only for the first read. Finally, random read is used if a particular address is known and needs to be accessed.

AT24CS02-MAHM-E also has four different write modes - no-ack, ack-poll, ack-next, and random write. In no-ack mode, an acknowledgement is not generated by the memory after a write command is sent. This mode is used for linear write data. Ack-poll mode is used for address increments in continuous writes, where each write requires an acknowledge from the memory. Ack-next mode is similar to ack-poll mode but requires an acknowledge from the memory only for the first write. Finally, random write is used if a particular address is known and needs to be written to.
