AT45DB041B-SI application field and working principle
A non-volatile memory, or NVM, is a type of memory that, unlike volatile memory, doesn\'t require power to retain its contents. The AT45DB041B-SI is a non-volatile serial EEPROM of 1-Mbit in size, offered in a very compact 8-pin JEDEC SOIC-8 package. It is widely used in the Memory market.
The AT45DB041B-SI is a high-speed Serial Interface EEPROM memory, consisting of four independent 256K-bit ID spaces. This device is organized as a 256 Kbit x 4 array and has an additional 64 Kbit of page buffer space, providing high-speed random read access and program and erase speeds for applications needing fast memory access and enhanced rewritable memory programming.
The AT45DB041B-SI has an Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) that supports low, medium, and high-speed operations. The SPI interface supports Single, Dual, and Quad I/O transaction operations and uses Industry-standard protocol. The SPI interface supports standard communication mode and Dual/Quad I/O Fast Read protocol.
The AT45DB041B-SI also supports low, medium, and high speed serial clock frequencies and supports auto-predictive programming for the erase, program and read operations. The AT45DB041B-SI non-volatile memory consists of four independent 256K-bit ID spaces. Each ID space contains four erase segments, each segment consisting of 8,192 rows by 256 bytes (2048 bytes) of cell array. The processor interface of the AT45DB041B-SI supports three different read modes: Sequential Read mode, Auto-Predictive Read mode, and Intel High-Speed Read Mode.
The device also supports high-speed program and erase operations. Program operations can be executed in two different modes: Auto-Predictive Page Program or Standard Program. Erase operations are executed in the following modes: Block Erase, Page Erase or Sector Erase. In addition, the program and erase operations can be locked or unlocked for each 512-Byte Page or for Sector with one command.
The AT45DB041B-SI also incorporates a high-speed serial peripheral that provides additional features, such as Single, Dual and Quad I/O Fast Read, Auto-Predictive Programming, Program/Erase Lock bits, Floating Gate modes and ID Code protection. This serial peripheral allows the device to be accessed and programmed via a low, medium and high-speed serial interface.
The AT45DB041B-SI is a low-power memory device. It has two power-down modes with Standby and Inactive modes, which reduce the device power consumption. It also features an on-chip Advance Data Protection (DPS) to protect data from being lost.
