It uses a modified Harvard architecture in which the CPU can directly address non-volatile program memory (ROM) and read/write data memory (RAM) in the same memory space, allowing multiple instructions to be executed concurrently. The AT89C58X2-SLSUL operates with an external 8 MHz oscillator, and internal 9-bit addressable timer (T0), two 8-bit timer/counters (T1,T2), and two 16-bit timer/counters (T3,T4). The internal communication buses and the serial port are also part of the core peripherals. The AT87C58X2-SLSUL has an 8-bit modified Harvard architecture, where instruction and data memory spaces are separate but addressable in the same memory space.
