The transponder’s tag is robustly composed of a silicone-style cover and an ABS based injection molded shrink wrap casing which ensures high durability and water resistance for a standard operating life of at least 5 years.

The transponder comes in three memory sizes, 7 bits, 8 bits, and 64 bits, and offers a wide range of features including protocol customization, password protection, active/inactive state, encryption, and various authentication algorithms such as Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), Password Authentication, Simplified One Time Pad (SOTP), and Message Authentication Code (MAC). The ATA5580M156-TSMW utilizes an integrated inductive-coupling coil and transceiver to perform communication between tag and reader. The tag constantly receives power from the reader and some or all of the information contained in the tag is encrypted. This ensures secure data transmission between the tag and reader.
