ATA664154-WNQW Application Field and Working PrincipleATA664154-WNQW is a kind of industrial interface frequently used in applications like process controllers, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), data acquisition systems, SCADA systems and industrial communication systems. It provides a cost-effective connection between the PLC and I/O elements, while facilitating rapid and effective exchange of data with high integrity.The ATA664154-WNQW Interface was developed to ensure that the signal integrity of data transmission over long distances is maintained at all times. This is achieved by using signal repeaters and low-voltage differential (LVD) signal lines to extend signal transmission range up to 1 km (0.6 miles). Moreover, this industrial interface offers bus communication between different devices, which makes it possible for users to configure their applications with a variety of integrated hardware and software.The ATA664154-WNQW is compliant with the IEC 61158-2-4:2001 and IEC 61241-4:2008 industrial communication standards, and is designed to work with a wide range of power supplies and switching protocols. The interface supports a range of cyclic data transfer modes such as Master/Slave Distributed Clock Synchronous (MDSC), Cyclic Stream (CS) and Unidirectional Data Link (UDL). The types of data transferred over the interface can include analog signals, digital signals, multi-bit signals, as well as complex structure operational data.The interface includes two connectors which are used to connect the wiring to I/O devices and controllers. The connectors- one male and one female- support three wire configurations. This includes two power lines (Voltage and Ground), two signal lines (Data and Clock) and an optional control line (Request). Each wire configuration is engineered to reduce crosstalk within the unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable. Moreover, the interface has a built-in status LED to indicate working state, and a mechanical switch for selection of data transfer mode.The working process of the ATA664154-WNQW interface is mainly divided into two parts: data transmission and data receiving. For data transmission, the data is first stored in the interface’s internal RAM or registers according to the requested protocol. The controller will then generate a signal on the request line to transmit the data stored in the RAM. The interface will then translates the data stored in the RAM into serial digital signals and sends them via the signal line to the I/O device.For data receiving, the receiving device will first detect the signal on the request line, indicating that there is data to be received. Then the receiving device will pass the data using the data line and the clock line. The interface will then detect the signal, decode the data, and store it into the internal RAM or registers.
