The Atmel ATAKSTK511-3 er board is a RF (Radio Frequency) Evaluation and Development Kit which provides an easy to use platform with which to develop and debug Atmel AVR-RF microcontroller based systems. The board consists of an Atmel AVR-RF microcontroller (ATmega32A), a Connected-RF-enabled transmitter/receiver module (ATAKSTK51111-3), and advanced Atmel development software (Atmel Studio). The ATAKSTK511-3 board is also compatible with the Atmel AVRISP MKII programmer and Atmel Studio development environment. With these features, it is easy to develop, debug, and test software for prototype and production systems that use the Atmel AVR-RF microcontroller.
The ATAKSTK511-3 board allows users to quickly and easily develop a system and test it in the shop. The board comes with an Atmel AVR-RF microcontroller (ATmega32A) pre-programmed with an RF receiver /transmitter. This allows the user to configure the system to work with the product that the development team is designing.
The AVR-RF microcontroller on the ATAKSTK511-3 board contains advanced RF features such as RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) to measure the Received Signal Strength of the transmitted signal, as well as RSSI filter setting to eliminate noise. It also contains advanced signal processing functions such as frequency and modulation shifting, amplitude and phase modulation, spread spectrum modulation, and multiple access methods to control power management. Additionally, the microcontroller contains an RF-to-UART converter which allows for direct communication between the device and a computer. The board also contains a reference antenna which is used to ensure that the device’s transmitted signal is in spec.
The ATAKSTK511-3 board also contains Atmel’s AtSLIP protocol which allows users to easily configure the device and debug the application without the need for a separate debug interface. The board also contains a USB to UART bridge, allowing for easy development and debugging. Finally, the ATAKSTK511-3 board contains an Atmel EEPROM which allows for storing and retrieving firmware and settings.
The ATAKSTK511-3 board is an ideal piece of equipment for RF Evaluation and Development. With its advanced features and Atmel’s AtSLIP protocol, the board allows for easy development and debugging of prototype and production systems that use the Atmel AVR-RF microcontroller.
