The ATM90E36A-DB Evaluation Kit (EVK) is a powerful and cost effective platform for evaluating the performance of ATM90E36A-DB integrated power semiconductor products. The ATM90E36A-DB is a low-power, full digital Energy Metering IC for electricity metering applications. The EVK provides access to all of the device\'s analogue and digital inputs, as well as integrated displays for measuring voltage, current, energy, output power, and other data interpretations. The EVK also offers extended hardware and software features, including a graphical user interface (GUI) and protocol adapters, providing users a wide range of tools for evaluating the ATM90E36A-DB.

The ATM90E36A-DB contains voltage and current sensing circuits that measure the active power in a several-phase power system. The chip also contains an amplified differential voltage (ADV) sensor input, a pair of voltage measurement channels, a pair of input and three output pins for both external capacitive and/or resistive current sensing circuits (shunt resistors). For the measurements, the chip has two independent ADCs, each of 16-bit resolution and one CC timer for measuring the power.The energy sensing is performed by integrating the active power through a 32-bit capacitor in the chip. It can also measure active energy up to three phases and/or cumulative energy.

The ATM90E36A-DB also has an embedded search engine which allows users to search for network connected metering nodes. It can also provide the possibility to monitor and control functions for peak power limitation, energy saving, grid stability control and other functions. For communication with the metering node, the ATM90E36A-DB can be connected to the network through an external module that contains a pair of transceivers, supporting the HomePlug AV (HPAV) protocol.

The EVK includes development boards, software and programming tools for testing, evaluation and demonstration of the ATM90E36A-DB. The boards provide access to the ADC inputs, digital I/O pins, isolated current sensing channels, ADV inputs and communication ports. The programming tools support different common programming languages, including C and C++. The serial communication port provides an external connection for communication with the computer for downloading and debugging the application. The GUI provides an easy-to-use graphical interface for controlling the chip operation and displaying measured data.

In addition to programming tools, the EVK also contains hardware modules for wireless communication with an external device, a display module for displaying real-time measurement data and a USB port for connecting external devices. A real-time energy monitoring feature is also included, allowing users to set alarm thresholds for energy consumption and voltage levels. The EVK also contains a library of algorithms designed to work with the ATM90E36A-DB, allowing for easy integration into existing systems.

The ATM90E36A-DB and EVK provide a powerful and cost effective solution for evaluating the performance of ATM90E36A-DB integrated power semiconductor products.
