ATmega256RZAV-8AU is a RF Transceiver IC, specifically designed for applications such as telemetry, wireless audio, and broadcast and networking applications. The part is a highly integrated, single-chip solution on a single package and provides users with the capability to quickly and easily establish and manage an IEEE 802.15.4 compliant wireless network.
The part provides a complete Zigbee RF transceiver system on a single chip, which includes a 32-bit RISC microcontroller, 2.4GHz direct sequence spread spectrum transceiver, 3GHz transceiver, power management circuits, and analog-to-digital converters (ADC) as well as digital-to-analog converters (DAC). The integrated 32-bit RISC microcontroller is based on the Atmel AVR 8-bit microcontroller architecture and offers up to 512Kbytes of code memory and up to 512Kbytes of data memory.
The part features a variety of interfaces, which include serial peripheral interfaces (SPI), I2C, JTAG, and USART, and up to 64 GPIOs. Additionally, the part also features general purpose input/output (GPIO) Pin Mapping, which allows configuration of any of the general purpose pins as being input or output.
