<p>The ATSAMD21J18A-AF microcontroller is part of the Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture (AMBA) family of microcontrollers, developed by Atmel. It has a wide range of applications, from simple general purpose applications to high-performance microcontrollers. ATSAMD21J18A-AF is an ARM Cortex-M0 based low power, low cost 8/32-bit microcontroller, with 64/128K of Flash memory, up to 16K of EEPROM, up to 736 bytes of RAM, up to 64 UARTs, up to 8 I2C busses, 2 SPI buses, 2 USB interfaces, 2 12-bit ADC/DAC interfaces, 8 hardware timers, and up to 12 hardware interrupt sources. </p><p>The ATSAMD21J18A-AF is suitable for a number of different applications, including motor control, audio/video systems, security devices, home automation, digital signage, remote monitoring and control, automotives, industrial control and instrumentation. It is also suitable for use as an embedded processor in devices such as mobile phones, cyber security products and embedded systems. </p><p>The ATSAMD21J18A-AF features an ARM Cortex-M0 core, which is designed for low power applications. The core provides up to 12 different levels of instructions, including support for 16-bit instructions, 32-bit instructions for better performance, 8-bit instructions for resource-constrained systems, and DSP instructions for media-rich applications. It also features a vectored interrupt controller and two sleep states for power efficient operation.</p><p>The ATSAMD21J18A-AF also features a range of peripheral devices, such as serial communications interfaces, pulse width modulators, and timers, which can be used to control external devices, and to monitor system events. It has four USART, one USART with SPI capability and four UART modules, each capable of operating up to five different serial protocols.
