Terminal Blocks have long been used in applications that require safe electrical connection to components and wires. The most common type of terminal blocks are the DIN Rail blocks, which include a two piece design; a top piece known as the Channel Rail and a bottom piece known as the Rail Block. Both pieces are made of molded plastic and feature a variety of electrical contacts such as terminals, screw terminals PVC , Nylon or Copper strings. ATT2 terminal blocks are the next step in this evolution. An ATT2 terminal block is a two-piece structure, much like the standard DIN Rail block, however, the ATT2 terminal block offers several major advantages over standard blocks. These advantages include increased safety, functionality, and communication capabilities. The entire system is compatible with a wide range of building automation systems and works with multiple protocols.
The main feature of the ATT2 terminal block is the integrated temperature sensor. This temperature sensor allows the block to monitor the temperature of the electrical connection to ensure it does not get too hot. The sensor can detect a temperature between -40°C and 105°C. This is extremely useful in building automation systems where it is important to be able to detect overheat issues before they become a problem.
