Working Principle

The AU02WS rectifier diode is a semiconductor device that passes current in a single direction. It has an anode and a cathode. When an electric potential is applied between anode and cathode, current flows in the forward direction and is blocked in the reverse direction.

When an electric potential is applied, majority carriers, primarily electrons, accelerate due to the electric field and cross the Schottky barrier to the anode side. The electrons become trapped in the anode, creating a depleted region in the junction. This depletion region forms a barrier that opposes the reverse flow of current. The current carried by majority carriers is compensated by minority carriers, which allow for greater current flow than would be possible with a diode made of a single material.

The AU02WS rectifier diode features a fast switching time and high current carrying capability, enabling it to be used in high power applications such as motor control. It is also ideal for power management, inverters, and other switching power supply applications.
