AZ1117EH-ADJTRG1 is a low dropout 3-Terminal Adjustable Voltage Regulator produced by Shanghai Kinwey, and is classified as PMIC - Voltage Regulators - Linear. This device is compatible with input voltages up to 28V, and provides an output voltage range of 1.2V to 37V with an output current of 1A. It provides excellent line and load regulation performance along with low quiescent current and high power supply rejection. The Adjustable Voltage Regulator also has two preset voltage options, 1.8V and 5V.

Its application fields include general purpose voltage regulation, automotive battery regulation and computer supply regulation. The working principle of the AZ1117EH-ADJTRG1 is based on an error amplifier, which is connected to an external voltage divider network, and produces a voltage at the output which is proportional to the voltage applied at the input. This error amplifier controls a P-channel MOSFET, which responds to the applied input voltage and adjusts the output voltage accordingly. The output voltage can be adjusted within the range of 1.2V to 37V, by simply changing the resistors connected to the Adjust and Trim pins, which are dedicated to this function.

AZ1117EH-ADJTRG1 has built-in features such as thermal shutdown, current limit, reverse input protection and output over-voltage protection. The thermal shutdown feature provides an extra layer of protection if the temperature exceeds the specified limit. The current limit feature prevents any over-current conditions, while the reverse input protection feature prevents any reverse voltage conditions. The output over-voltage protection feature prevents any over-voltage conditions at the output.
