AZ317HTR-E1 APPLICATION FIELD AND WORKING PRINCIPLE

The AZ317HTR-E1 is a low power, low drop-out linear regulator from Diodes Incorporated. It is a fixed voltage regulator designed for use in DC-DC converters, battery chargers and other electronics applications. The device is capable of providing a regulated output voltage, up to 5V and 500mA with very low quiescent current consumption. The AZ317HTR-E1 is a monolithic device consisting of an on-chip adjustable bipolar transistor, temperature compensation and temperature protection circuit, oscillator circuit and current regulation circuit. Once this level is detected, the AZ317HTR-E1 compares the actual output voltage to a reference voltage and regulates the output by controlling the amount of current supplied by the pass-transistor. The AZ317HTR-E1 can also be used in audio, video and medical devices that require high accuracy, such as ECG and EEG monitors. It is available in two packages-an 8-pin TO-220 narrow body, with a maximum temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and an 8-pin TO-252 wide body, with an extended temperature range of -40°C to +150°C.
