AZ7500CP-E1 is a monolithic DC-DC switching controller integrated with power MOSFETs, making it one of the best performing voltage regulators for DC-DC switching applications. It is a high efficiency, low-noise, easy to use and cost-effective power solution designed specifically for powering modern micro-controllers and other sensitive equipment, such as cellular phones, PDAs, digital cameras, and other mobile devices.

The AZ7500CP-E1 provides a low-noise, high-efficiency DC-DC converter solution with a wide input voltage range of 2.5V to 68V. It is designed to offer low operating temperature, low ripple and noise, fast transient response, and high thermal and electrical noise immunity. In addition, it is capable of providing a wide range of output current and a wide range of output voltages.

In regard to its working principle, AZ7500CP-E1 features a step-down, pulse-width controlled switchmode power regulator. It generates an accurately regulated output voltage by controlling the duty cycle of FET pulses applied to an inductor-capacitor (LC) filter circuit. In this way, the output voltage is maintained by varying the on and off times of the FET switches, thereby controlling the amount of current that flows through the filter and out of the output.

At the start of the switching cycle, the controller turns the FET on allowing current to start flowing through the inductor and out of the output. Once the inductor is saturated, the FET is turned off, and the current through the inductor will start to decay. During this time, the inductor current is transferred to a capacitor, charging it in the process, and this will maintain the output voltage. The whole cycle is repeated until the output voltage or current is stable.

The AZ7500CP-E1 also has a unique "Burst Mode" function, which provides an ultra-low Quiescent Current and power dissipation during light load or no load operation. This feature enhances the overall efficiency of the system, allowing it to operate in a quasi-static state without compromising its performance. Additionally, the AZ7500CP-E1 features Power Good signal, UVLO protection, and several other features to ensure reliable and robust operation.
