The B230AF-13 is a single-phase rectifier module belonging to the “checkered flag” series produced by Rectron Semiconductor. B230AF-13 utilizes a self-exciting and self-regulating alternator principle, where the voltage is generated within the rotating generator field structure and applied to the rectifier. The module consists of two components, a diode bridge which rectifies the AC power to direct current, and a switching control circuit. The diode bridge consists of four diodes, connected in a full-wave bridge configuration. This bridge rectifies the AC power and stores each half cycle in the main capacitor, converting the power to DC.The switching control circuit generates the excitation field by boosting the low DC voltage from the main capacitor, this voltage is then applied to the rotating field to excite it and generate the higher or main voltage. This current passes through the winding around the rotor core, which is magnetized and makes the current proceed through the stator and then back to the stationary form, completing a full circuit.The continual process of the switching control circuit alternating the current to the rotor field creates and sustains the energy flow. This energy is then applied to the rectifier, converting the AC power to steady DC volts and maintains the required pressure for motor drive applications.Once the medium high DC voltage is achieved, the switching control circuit will regulate the voltage and power flow based on the current and voltage applied, allowing a fast and regulated output in order to drive the motor efficiently.Conclusion
