The [BAY72TR] is a single diode rectifier with a variety of useful applications. It is a reverse conducted rectifier with low leakage and high temperature performance, ideal for power supplies, voltage regulators, and audio equipment. The device is composed of an anode, a cathode, a guardring, and two terminals. It operates with a maximum reverse voltage (Vr) of up to 48V, continuous forward current (Io) of 250A, and a peak repetition rate of 10kHz to 1MHz.

The main purpose of a single diode rectifier is to convert alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC). This is accomplished by allowing current to flow through the device in one direction and blocking current in the other direction.
