BD2042AFJ-E2 is a Power Distribution Switches, Load Drivers developed by ON Semiconductor. It is designed for Power Management Load Drivers, and is able to deliver high current without the need for external components, making it suitable for mobile applications.

BD2042AFJ-E2 enables the addition of smart power management switches to a system, allowing efficient control of power supply in Power Management Load Drivers. It fully integrates a power switch and a fast single-channel load switch driver in a small, low profile SOIC-8 package. The integrated synchronization circuit supports fully remote open-drain control of the load switch without the need for a dedicated clock line, providing easy integration with existing system designs.

The design of BD2042AFJ-E2 use a core IC to reduce the external components and obtain higher efficiency. Maximum current output up to 0.35A and the output voltage is adjustable from 1.9V to 5V. Operating from an input supply range from 1.8V to 5.5V and includes integrated soft-start and Over Voltage Protection (OVP) functions.

Working principle
