BD46381G-TR consists of four basic blocks: power-good comparator, voltage-on-wakeup (VoW) comparator, watchdog counter and reset logic. The device uses the input supply voltage (VIN) to monitor the power-good signal (VIN/PG) and generate a power good output (PGD). The device further monitors the VoW signal (Vin/VOW) to detect the voltage drops outside the normal operation range and to generate a reset signal (RST).

The watchdog counter (WDC) is used to execute a reset in case of a system failure.When enabled, the WDC continously Times a selectable period of 250ms, 500ms, 1s, 2s. The expiry of the WDC time window is indicated by an internal signal, WDO, which is used by the reset logic to generate the reset event.

The reset logic generates a configurable active low or active high reset signal based on the power-good signal (PGD), the WDO signal and the hard reset (RSTB) signal. The RST signal is available in open-drain or push-pull configuration as well as in a N-level configuration for multiple reset outputs.
