The BF727-UVC light source is composed of two components: a cold cathode light tube and a base unit. The tube is coated with a special fluoropolymer material that, when exposed to the electric discharge of the two component gases, produces UVC light.
The base unit consists of a printed circuit board (PCB) that houses the circuit components and power supplies for the cold cathode light tube. Working Principle

The two gases produce an electric discharge in the tube when current is applied, which in turn produces UVC light.

The base unit handles the power supply and safety control of the light source, and ensures that the light intensity is consistent over its lifespan.
