The P-channel MOSFET acts as an input switch and the N-channel MOSFET as an output switch.The working principle of the BH29FB1WHFV-TR device is based on a buck-boost concept with two power switches connected in parallel on the input side. The two power switches alternate allowing current to flow through the output side to regulate the output voltage from the input voltage.The two power switches are controlled by two switches Drive 1 and Drive 2. An oscillator is used to generate a pulse width modulated (PWM) waveform for the two switches. Based on the duty cycle of the PWM waveform, one power switch is turned on while the other is turned off to create a step down or a step up voltage conversion ratio. When the duty cycle of the PWM waveform is greater than 50%, the output voltage is lower than the input voltage and the BH29FB1WHFV-TR device operates in buck or step-down mode. When the duty cycle of the PWM waveform is less than 50%, the output voltage is higher than the input voltage and the BH29FB1WHFV-TR device operates in boost or step-up mode.To regulate the output voltage, the BH29FB1WHFV-TR device utilizes various compensation loops, including Error Amplifier, Voltage Reference, and OVP/UVP comparators. The Error Amplifier compares the output voltage to the reference voltage and generates an error voltage with the difference. The error voltage is then used to adjust the duty cycle of the PWM waveform accordingly to regulate the output voltage.The BH29FB1WHFV-TR device is provided in a small and ultra-low profile package (UDFN10) with exposed PAD for an effective heat transfer which helps to provide over-temperature protection and better efficiency. The device has a high integration level with low external component count and comes with comprehensive diagnostics and control pins to provide well-balanced protection in a wide range of applications.
