The BMA250 is a three-axis, low-g digital motion sensor designed for use in a multitude of applications. It is designed to provide more accurate motion detection than any previous 3-axis accelerometer, and is ideal for applications involving games, augmented reality, image stabilization, exercising, and navigation. It is equipped with a low-mitigation linear acceleration response functioning from minus fifty to one-hundred thirty g accelerations.
The BMA250 is suitable for use in flat-panel display games, augmented reality, image stabilization, exercising, navigation, and industrial automation applications. It works by measuring the linear acceleration of moving objects. The acceleration is then reported as x, y, and z components in either two’s complement 16bit raw data, or the corresponding format strings as an output. Additionally, its relative lower inertial weight results in less power consumption and optimized power management.
As an evaluation board, the BMA250 allows engineers to evaluate the functionality and performance of the BMA250. The evaluation board features the BMA250 in a 3D chip-scale package, allowing for the smallest possible form factor and power consumption. It also includes eight LEDs for system status indication, a self-test mode switch, an auxiliary port connector, and a dedicated diagnostic port.
