BP/HHTR-RP (Basic Physics/High Heat Transfer Reactor Physics Research Program) is a research program established in 1970\'s to explore reactor physics principles, particularly focused on the nuclear safety and reactor core design. The program is made up of two main components: research, simulation, and analysis, and experiment. The research areas include materials design, structure analysis, criticality safety, neutron transport and reactor kinetics, radiation protection, neutron monitoring and instrumentation, thermal-hydraulics and core design, reactor dynamics & control and reflood and scram.

The research activities of this program have focused primarily on the physical principles regarding the behavior of nuclear reactor cores, with particular emphasis on enhancing the safety of nuclear systems.
