The BP5226-18 DC-DC Converters are designed specifically for use in applications such as motor control, medical instrumentation, robotics, telecom, and many other applications. BP5226-18 is a high efficiency, wide input voltage (>50V), two-stage buck-boost converter. It comprises of two main devices. The working of the converter starts with the primary stage switching, turning on the MOSFET switch and charging the output capacitors with the DC supply voltage. The converter then pulls the load low and connects a reverse current to the capacitor through the NPN power transistor. This discharge activity continues until the load voltage is dropped to the desired level.
The device also provides safety features such as input voltage protection, over temperature protection, over current and over voltage protection, and also active current sharing. The active current sharing feature allows several devices to be connected in parallel, which will ensure that each device draws the same current load, avoiding any overloaded device that might lead to failure.
