Working Principles of BQ2018SN-E1TR
The BQ2018SN-E1TR uses a multi-level buck-boost converter to provide low-noise regulation. The buck-boost converter ensures that the output voltage remains stable over a wide range of input voltage levels. The PMIC supports up to 16 cells in series, allowing for a maximum of 5.3V in combined cell voltage. The PMIC is capable of supplying up to 6A of output current and supports both 1S and 2S battery configurations.
The BQ2018SN-E1TR guarantees a safe operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The device offers over-temperature protection and over-voltage protection as well as smart over-current protection with adjustable current limit levels. The PMIC also features an open circuit protection function, making it suitable for applications that require a backup feature.
The BQ2018SN-E1TR also includes an integrated power on/off circuit with configurable “Power on Retention” time and a built-in battery temperature control. An automatic discharge circuit and an adjustable balancing current are available to keep the cells within the operating range and ensure safe and efficient charge and discharge cycles.
