BQ2084DBTR-V140 Integrated Circuits (ICs)

The BQ2084DBTR-V140 is a secondary side Li-ion battery protection and management IC (integrated circuit) designed by Texas Instruments. The device is suitable for single cell, two-cell, and three-cell series Li-ion battery cell configurations. It integrates overvoltage, undervoltage, over temperature, overcurrent, and short circuit protection features into one package. In addition, the IC also provides voltage, current, and temperature monitoring for efficient power management.

The IC also secures the battery by providing short circuit protection, over temperature and overcurrent protection features.

Moreover, it features a high voltage protection circuit which prevents the applied voltage to the Li-ion cell exceeding the preset high voltage protection threshold. This prevents overcharging and the acceleration of the Li-ion cell aging process. With the integrated temperature monitor circuit and current monitor circuit, the IC is able to check the battery temperature in real-time and dynamically adjust the current according to the temperature, maximizing battery performance and safety.

The BQ2084DBTR-V140 features an advanced low power consumption design. It can operate at a supply current of under 0.2µA in shutdown mode, extending the battery run time. With an operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C and an 8-pin WSON package, the IC is suitable for performance-demanding mobile and IoT applications.
