BQ2000PWRG4

BQ2000PWRG4 is a one-cell battery charger with integrated FET, ideal for power delivery systems. It offers a variety of adjustable charge current and charge termination voltage settings, as well as reverse current protection and temperature termination. BQ2000PWRG4 utilizes a charging algorithm called Constant-Current/ constant-voltage (CC/CV). During charging, the device draws constant current, set by external resistor dividers, until the battery reaches a voltage close to the termination voltage. At this point, the charger maintains a constant voltage to ensure that the charge cycle ends at the designated voltage and the battery has the desired full-charge capacity. If the battery reaches the charge-termination voltage and the charger detects no further increase in the battery’s voltage, the charge cycle will terminate.

The BQ2000PWRG4 also includes a reverse current protection, a temperature safety timer, and temperature termination. The reverse current protection prevents current from flowing from the battery back into the charger when the battery voltage is below that of the charger. The temperature safety timer prevents overcharging a battery by cutting off charging if the surrounding temperature is too hot. Finally, the temperature termination feature safely terminates the charging cycle when it detects that the battery has become too hot.
