The BSPH2230WER TVS device is designed to provide protection against transients that occur in high-power applications. This is accomplished by using a voltage clamping circuit, as seen in the diagram below.When a transient voltage exceeds the device’s minimum operating voltage (V_OP) value, the device will then act as a short to ground, limiting both the voltage and the current flowing through the device until the transient has been completely dissipated. The device is then designed to automatically reset itself and depending on the application, return to its original state.The device is also designed with a temperature coefficient, which ensures that the device remains stable over a wide temperature range of -55°C to +125°C. This temperature coefficient also helps to protect the device from mechanical and environmental damage due to thermal cycling.Conclusion
