BTS3028SDRATMA1 is a new integrated PMIC –Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) for use in power distribution switches, load drivers circuit applications. The device provides an integrated, low-power system solution that offers high performance, cost and energy efficiency for a wide range of transistor control needs. BTS3028SDRATMA1 combines high-output current and low-resistance drive capability with low-power consumption and protection features. The device is designed for use in automotive, industrial and consumer electronic applications, such as computers, TVs and set-top boxes.

BTS3028SDRATMA1\'s main features include: low-power consumption, fast switch speeds, adjustable PWM frequency, and current limiting. The device has two output channels with adjustable maximum current limit. The high-side switch has a peak current limit of 500mA and can operate up to 100MHz. The low-side switch has an adjustable output current limit of 40mA and can operate up to 80MHz. Both channels have a logic input control, allowing user-defined logic control of the switch output. Low logic current operation of 25uA at VCC = 5V makes it suitable for low-power application.

Working Principle of BTS3028SDRATMA1: The device operates in two modes: open-drain (OD) and three-state (TS). The OD mode is used for load driving applications and the TS mode is used for high-side switching applications. To switch from OD to TS, a logic high on the control pin is applied. A logic low on the control pin clears the switch by imposing a three-state condition on the output pins. Stringent ESD requirements have been met through an integrated ESD protection structure.

The open-drain mode provides a versatile output drive solution with a high output current capability of up to 500mA. This ensures fast and reliable switching of the output by driving its internal N-channel MOSFET. The TS mode provides a low-voltage option with a low power loss and low charge injection. One of its unique features is the adjustable PWM frequency, allowing the user to adjust the frequency between 1MHz and 50MHz. This allows exact control of the output switches. The device also allows for current limiting, protecting the device from over-current and over-voltage conditions.
