The two primary application fields of BTS3050EJXUMA1 are automotive and consumer applications. In automotive applications, the device is designed to work with 12 V and 24 V secondary power sources and can be used for hot-swap protection, e.g. Headlamp Control Units. In consumer applications, the switch can be used in USB 3.0 applications to protect against ESD damage. The device is capable enough to provide long-term protection from ESD.
The working principle behind BTS3050EJXUMA1 revolves around a common source for all the three channels. When power is applied, the three channels engage and the load is connected to the source. The load can be switched between the source and ground with the help of individual control inputs, which are available for each channel. The control signal for each channel is thus an independent function with no interaction with the other channels.
