The BTS3050TFATMA1 is a current sensing P-N-P BTS3050TFTMA1 power switch with an integrated current sense amplifier (CSA). It is categorized as a PMIC – Power Distribution Switches, Load Drivers. It has the features of integrated over-voltage, over-current, over-temperature and undervoltage protection, which make it suitable for Automotive Electronics, Battery Management, PDAs, computing, communication and consumer applications.

The BTS3050TFATMA1 is designed to detect power supply irregularities, such as an over-current/over-voltage in power supplies as well as over-temperature or under voltage conditions. It can be used to serve a wide range of applications, such as switching on/off of power rails, protecting downstream devices from overloads and providing overload current information to a controller.

The integrated CSA is designed using state-of-the-art technologies and delivers a higher efficiency, faster switching and greater currents than traditional CSA solutions. The BTS3050TFATMA1 has a low on-resistance of 0.35Ω and provides a highly stable and accurate current sense voltage with a 0.460V – 0.490V against current ratio linearity. The voltage loss ratio is also improved by up to 66%.

This power switch also features an optional programmable trip level that can be applied in applications where power sequencing is essential by setting a precise trip level for over-voltage. It shuts down the power supplies within 3μs when the voltage trip level is exceeded.
