BU10105S-E3/45 Bridge Rectifiers are used primarily in switching power supplies, inverters and energy saving environments, as well as in motor control circuits and back-up sources of power. It is an ideal solution for easy-to-install, reliable, cost effective electrical protection. Bridge rectifiers are designed for use in applications requiring high thermal performance such as air conditioning, refrigeration and other high-reliability applications.
Bridge rectifiers, also known as diode bridges, are electromechanical devices used for converting AC to DC by means of control. A simple diode bridge consists of four diodes connected in a bridge circuit, forming the shape of a square with one diode on each of its four sides. This bridge rectifier is designed to form a bridge circuit across the three phases of a three-phase alternating current (AC) power source. As the current flows through the bridge, they block the backflow of the current during half part-cycles of the input waveform. This process eventually creates a full-wave rectified DC output waveform.
Bridge rectifiers are used to provide a complete unidirectional or bidirectional power flow to resistor or inductors, or other devices that require unidirectional power. This facilitates the flow of electricity in one direction only, allowing the device being supplied to only use the energy. In a three-phase system, a bridge rectifier allows for the creation of a single-phase signal from the three-phase signal for use in AC circuitry. The bridge rectifier can be connected to an AC line and is used to provide a DC signal in applications such as motor control and power supplies.
To understand the working principle of BU10105S-E3/45 bridge rectifier, it should be remembered that the movement of electricity is from positive to negative. In the bridge, one diode is connected to the positive of each phase. Whenever an AC waveform occurs in one of these phases, the diode immediately conducts and is referred to as either firing or leading. The current flowing through this diode is then passes through the other diodes connected in the bridge.
