Snap Action

The BXM4N-1A is a snap-action limit switch with a wide range of applications. It has a pre-travel action and adjustable switch action, which is suitable for most operations requiring precise and accurate limit switch positioning.

The design uses a simple cam-operated switching mechanism that is rated to switch at currents up to 10 amps with a voltage rating of up to 250 volts (AC). The switch has three positions: normal, broken, and reset. This makes BXM4N-1A ideal for applications requiring instantaneous switching or control circuit control.

The unique design of the BXM4N-1A enables it to provide long-lasting operation over a wide range of temperatures and ambient conditions. The rugged construction makes it resistant to dust, dirt, oil, grease, water, and other contaminants. The switch housing is designed to withstand up to 15 psi pressure and temperatures ranging from -20 to 85 degrees Celsius. BXM4N-1A’s working principle can be summed up as follows: when actuated, the switch opens and closes its contacts. In most cases, the switch opens its circuit for a moment, then closes again. This action is caused by a cam that rotates the switch’s armature, resulting in an electrical gap which allows electricity to flow through. Depending on the application, the switch can operate with direct current (DC), alternating current (AC), or both.
