BY399P-E3/54 is a single-phase fast-recovery rectifier diode which is designed to achieve high efficiency switching performance in a wide range of applications. It has a peak repetitive reverse voltage (VRRM) of 400V, a peak forward surge current (IFSM) of 48A, a peak repetitive forward current (IFRM) of 3.5A, and a typical forward voltage (VF) of 0.90V. It is available in a TO-220 package.
The BY399P-E3/54 is suitable for use in high- efficiency AC-DC power supply, current limit, voltage control, voltage regulation, general switch circuits, and rectifier applications. It is designed to achieve maximum efficiency with minimum device losses, while minimizing the current flowing through the device. It also reduces the system switching frequency and generation of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI).
The BY399P-E3/54 is constructed of a pair of PN junction diodes. When forward biased, current flows from anode to cathode, allowing current to flow from the input power source (AC power) to the load (DC power). When reverse biased, no current can flow from anode to cathode, preventing current from flowing from the output (DC power) back to the input (AC power).
