BYM11-800-E3/97 Application Field and Working Principle

Introduction

BYM11-800-E3/97 is a singe-phase thyristor rectifier module. It is used in rectifying 50Hz/60Hz AC power frequency. Its peak reverse voltage (PRV) is 800VDC, and its maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage (MRPV) should not exceed 600VDC. BYM11 rectifier has a good air cooling performance, and can work normally in high temperatures. It can be used to construct half-controlled and full-controlled bridges to achieve three-phase half-wave rectification, three-phase full-wave rectification, and three-phase bridge bridge rectification.

Application Field

The BYM11-800-E3/97 single-phase thyristor rectifier module is suitable for heavy-duty AC/DC rectification and DC conversion in many applications. It can also be used for freewheeling with simple control circuit, as well as controlling AC/DC power supply and process systems by AC/DC combination. This module is particularly applicable in the fields of metering, communications, industrial automation, power supplies, and auxiliary power supply of computer, UPS, and other systems.

Working Principle

The working principle of the BYM11-800-E3/97 rectifier module is based on the semiconductor thyristor. Thyristors are solid-state components composed of four or more diodes, and are capable of conducting electric current in only one direction. They are largely used to convert AC voltage into DC voltage, and can be combined to form rectifier bridge structures. A typical bridge rectification circuit can be constructed using the BYM11 rectifier module, as shown in the image below.

When AC power frequency is applied to the circuit, the four thyristors turn on one after the other, resulting in a full-wave rectification of the AC voltage.
