The BYW74TR is a single in-line breakout packaged device specifically designed for 40A bridge applications, such as DC and AC motor control, UPS systems and power supplies in general. It is made by Infineon Technologies and is an advanced assembly of one N-channel and three P-channel Power MOSFETs with anti-parasitic diode and temperature sensor. This diode is a perfect choice for power circuits where reliable and performance are of utmost importance.
The device has a peak repetitive reverse voltage of 600V and a DC blocking voltage of 450V, with a wide power band of 1.1ohm (40A) and very low capacitance. The single package offers two in-line terminals (T1, T2) and three single terminals (S1, S2, and S3) for connecting the load and three separate floating source terminals (S4, S5 and S6). The single package provides an integrated temperature sensor output (T1) connected to the negative terminal that can sense the maximum temperature of the system, while the positive terminal (T2) provides feedback when the temperature reaches a predetermined level.
The BYW74TR is made with the latest technology available, which allows the device to operate up to 40A with a low gate charging current. This ensures greater maximum breakdown voltage (BVDSC) capability, higher current capacity and lower power dissipation.
