Diodes are electronic components that allow electricity to flow in one direction only. Zener diodes are special types of diodes that also allow electricity to flow in forward direction like a normal diode, but they also can also conduct reverse current at a certain reverse break down voltage. BZX55B16-TAP is a special single zener diode with a breakdown voltage of 16V.
The BZX55B16-TAP has a wide range of application fields, such as the generation of constant voltage, protection of voltage-sensitive components, voltage regulation, rectifier circuits, and voltage clippers.
