Application Fields

The C10G32 fuse is mainly used in high-current electrical panels, often in the form of a multi-pack assembly of several fuses. It is used for overcurrent events which cannot be prevented by slower conventional fuses. The fuse can be installed up to 1588 Amps & 690 Voltage in medium voltage works. It’s also used in multiple applications such as protecting industrial machines, automated line protection, protection of transformers, lines, machines, etc., power circuit monitoring, or secondary lighting.

Working Principle

The C10G32 fuse works on the principle of over current protection. The fuse consists of a thermal element, which is inherently triggered in case of an over current, disconnecting the circuit and protecting the connected equipment from damage due to excessive current. The thermal element comprises tinned wire placed in a cylindrical porcelain body and connected to a mechanical trip unit.

When a certain current flow in the circuit triggers the fuse, the thermal element heats up and initiates the trip unit. The electrical contact of the trip unit is withdrawn, leading to the breaking of the current order. The thermal element itself serves as the main current-carrying element in the C10G32.
