Working Principle
C2D05120A rectifier diodes work on the principle of PN junction in which holes and electrons of adjacent P and N type material mixed together and result in formation depletion layer. The diode acts in the direction of the majority current carriers. This means that when it is reverse biased electrons recombine with the holes in the reverse biased PN junction and eliminates the flow of current through it. When it is forward biased then due to the voltage drop across PN junction it allows the majority current carriers to move and through it.
