The C8051F124R is an embedded integrated device used in a wide variety of automation, monitoring, and control applications. Moreover, the device also features a wide array of on-chip debug and test functions, enabling comprehensive system diagnosis and debugging prior to the production stage.
The C8051F124R incorporates a 16-bit single-cycle 8031 core derived from the popular 8051 core architecture. It is optimized specifically for lower-power operation while still providing high-performance and fast response times. The 8051 core executes instructions in a single cycle, and features an enhanced interrupt controller as well as hardware multiply and divide instructions. The C8051F124R includes several advanced features to support real-time applications, including a unique low-power mode, a three-stage programmable watchdog timer and two sleep modes.
In terms of clock system, the 12-pin C8051F124R features an integrated oscillator for stable operation without external components; also an auxiliary crystal oscillator is available for more accurate clock sources. The Clock Generation Unit (CGU) of the device provides an optimal clock frequency selection from multiple clock sources, it also allows the system clock to be clocked from an external clock source.
The C8051F124R is available in a 16-pin surface-mount package, making it suitable for small form factor embedded applications.
