The design includes a liquid crystal polymer insulator, capable of handling extreme temperatures from -40 °C to +125 °C. The CBPW-5-HT comes with a built-in strain relief at the housing level and with an inserted part to be pressed onto the busbar using a crimping tool.

The CBPW-5 is designed for quick-lock-connectors. It has a 10mm (0.39”) centerline pitch, allowing for easy connection and disconnection of the wires. It also features a shut-off clip which keeps the wires from being disconnected accidentally. When the plug is removed from the CBPW-5, it shuts off the power to the wires, thus providing additional safety. The terminals are marked to show clearly which terminals are for power and which are for ground, and this makes installation easier.
