CC100-110 Application Field and Working Principle

Electromechanical contactors, such as the CC100-110 series, are devices that switch an electric circuit on or off for controlling power applications. Such contactors are extensively used in a wide range of low-voltage applications, such as control panels, electric motors, lighting systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) installations, and elevator circuits.

The CC100-110 series of contactors are designed to control low-voltage motors, typically in the range of 24-120 volts AC or DC. The contactors operate on AC and DC current and offer two different configurations. The single-pole configuration is typically used for the control of a single load, while the three- and four-pole versions are utilized for three- and four-wire applications respectively.

The CC100-110 series of contactors feature a main contact that is operated by a solenoid. The solenoid consists of a coil that is energized with an electrical current. When the coil is energized, a plunger is attracted to the center of the coil and moves the main contact. This is used to either open or close a circuit, depending on the design of the contactor.

A common feature of contactors, such as the CC100-110 series, is the incorporation of a holding coil. This is a separate coil, independent of the main contact operation, which will remain energized in order to keep the main contact closed even after the solenoid coil is de-energized. In this way, the contactor will remain in its switched state until a new electrical current passes through the solenoid coil.

The CC100-110 series contactors are designed to be extremely reliable. They feature an insulated body and terminals to help reduce the amount of energy that can be lost in the contactors. Additionally, contactors are generally designed to operate in conditions where the ambient temperature can reach an extreme level. To ensure maximum reliability, individual contactors are usually tested to ensure continuous operation under these conditions.

The CC100-110 series of contactors are designed to provide maximum flexibility and dependability in a number of applications. They are suitable for low-voltage operations, from 24-120 volts AC or DC. With the integrated holding coil, they can provide reliable switch operation in remote locations. Additionally, they are designed with insulated bodies and terminals in order to reduce energy loss in the contactors.
