The CC12/4SA220 is a contactor from the range of Electromechanical contactors, which are used in the control and protection of varying electrical systems. Electromechanical contactors are operated by a coil, which when supplied with an electric current, generates magnetic force which is then used to operate the contacts. This particular contactor from the range has a coil voltage rated at 24 volts, a coil current of 10.1 amperes and pick up and drop residue of 220 volts. In the CC12/4SA220, these features are suitable for two different applications. The first application of CC12/4SA220 contactors is in the protection of electrical circuits - typically in the areas of high voltage circuits where shock hazards exist and isolation of the circuit from the power source is necessary. In this application, the 220 V pick up and drop residue provides a secure and safe break of power before the CC12/4SA220 contactor is engaged. This prevents shocks and dangerous overloads. The 10.1 A coil current also allows for the contactor to switch large current loads safely and reliably. The second application of the CC12/4SA220 contactors is as an electrical switching device.
