CC2540TDK-LIGHT is a cost-effective platform supporting Bluetooth® low energy applications and is part of Texas Instrument’s RF Evaluation & Development Kits, Boards of products. It enables simple and rapid development of Bluetooth Low Energy applications and is a plug-and-play solution for Bluetooth Low Energy, Zigbee® and IEEE 802.15.4 designs. It comes with a built-in USB connectivity, which significantly reduces the time spent in application development.

The CC2540TDK-LIGHT platform is specifically designed for rapid prototyping. It includes a Texas Instruments CC2540 radio System-on-Chip (SoC) based 8 MHz Proprietary Wireless MCU and a CC2540DK-LIGHT development kit which contains on-board debugger, USB Interface and an LCD display. The CC2540 SoC is a highly integrated single-chip collection of digital logic, radio transceiver and the latest Bluetooth® low energy protocol stack. It enables developers to quickly prototype Bluetooth low energy designs without making major changes on the host system.

The CC2540TDK-LIGHT provides a comprehensive development environment with full-featured development tools that are designed to simplify and optimize embedded development. The CC2540DK-LIGHT provides an emulator, debugger and program memory for the CC2540 SoC. It also includes a comprehensive software library which enables developers to quickly and easily build their applications.

The CC2540DTK-LIGHT can also be used in Zigbee® and IEEE 802.15.4 designs with the addition of an external Zigbee® or IEEE 802.15.4 protocol processor. It also supports the use of hardware debug tools including JTAG and UART. It also supports the development of third-party applications using a broad range of web development tools and software applications.
