It enables high data rate communication, low power consumption and low overall system cost for any device where wireless connectivity is necessary, and integrates easily into designs requiring ultra-low power.It operates on an on-chip processor and a memory, and features multiple user-programmable settings that can be adjusted to customize the kit for specific needs. The CC256XCQFN-EM also includes on-board Arduino-compatible headers, allowing communication with a variety of embedded sensors, as well as battery and power management features (PMIC) for portable applications.The CC256XCQFN-EM system-on-chip (SoC) has an integrated RF transceiver that supports both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth protocols. It is designed to be compatible with a wide range of high-performance baseband processors, such as the Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 for Wi-Fi and the Qualcomm Atheros QCA617 for Bluetooth low-energy (BLE).The CC256XCQFN-EM has three main components; the radio, a baseband processor, and the application layer. The radio transceiver houses a high-performance RF transceiver that enables Wi-Fi and Bluetooth communication, and can operate in both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. The baseband processor contains the MAC, PHY, and WLAN protocol layers, which allow the SoC to interface with both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth protocols and support multiple operating modes. Lastly, the application layer contains user-programmable settings for customizing the SoC for specific needs.The CC256XCQFN-EM’s radio and baseband processor are designed to be low-cost and low-power, making it an ideal choice for a wide range of compact, portable, and low-cost devices. The radio transceiver also has a flexible architecture that supports up to four customized operation modes, allowing the SoC to be customized for the specific application requirements of each device.The CC256XCQFN-EM is equipped with several power-saving options for reducing power consumption during both transmit and receive operations. These features include automatic sleep-mode support, which allows the SoC to enter a low-power sleep-mode when data is not being transmitted or received, as well as a power-saving mode for the radio receiver. Thus, overall system power consumption can be reduced significantly.In addition, the on-board PMIC on the CC256XCQFN-EM provides an ultra-low-power experience with 35 mA maximum current draw, which allows the SoC to be battery powered without an external power supplies.Overall, the CC256XCQFN-EM enables designers to quickly integrate a low-cost, low-power, RF-based system into their project.
