The shift register consists of 8 D-type flip-flops, a Reset input, and a Clock input. The Reset input can be connected to either a high or low logic level, which sets all the flip-flop’s output states to either high or low. The Clock input is connected to the B output of the counter, and clocking data into the register on the rising edge of the Clock.
