CD4034BPW is a kind of low power CMOS shift register. It is mainly used in logic – shift registers.Shift registers are electronic components, which can store multiple bits of information at once. Each bit is stored in several stages or cells. When the clock pulse is applied, the data in the register moves or shifts from one cell to the next one. With this shift process any type of serial binary data such as data, address, instructions and even messages can be manipulated and transferred between various components and circuits.The various types of shift registers are composed of different stages and special functions for controlling the order. They are also capable of shifting data in both Left/Right directions and can invert/complement the output in a user-defined setup.The CD4034BPW are 16-bit shift register circuits and are designed with advanced active low-power modes. It allows for the storage and shift of data in both directions. They have symmetrical series data inputs and can run at a high speed. CD4034BPW achieves a maximum operating frequency of up to 6 MHz with a minimum shift time of 10 ns. It also features a user-configurable mode of operation, where the data can be loaded in either ER or CLK1 pin. The device is available in 16-pin Plastic Dual In-Line Package.The CD4034BPW registers employ advanced CMOS/TTL device inputs which ensure a high supply current capability and low power dissipation in operation. The outputs include a dual locking feature which holds the data until the next data input is applied. In addition, the outputs of the register are open drain, thus allowing several registers to be cascaded in chains.The power usage is the major benefit of using CD4034BPW shift registers.
